A witch dressed in pink with Jack-o-lanterns decorating her clothing giggles as she appears before those gathered.
"Alright you humans, listen up!" She announces, "I'll be running the next game! You may have beaten me before, but this time, I'll make you see the truth of what happened on that day! I won't lose again, you're going to believe that Ushiromiya Natsuhi is the culprit!"
She creates a scene of a young Natsuhi crying over a diary. Trapped on the island and abused by Eva and Kinzo, all she wishes is to be able to go home. She hears Kinzo howl about his beloved witch, Beatrice, and grits her teeth.
“If there is a Beatrice, she should see you for what you really are and kill you.” She grates under her breath, before the scene shifts to some time probably not long before the conference.
Natsuhi is pouring over the epitaph like never before, absorbing every line. She almost swears she can hear Kinzo berating her husband about their money problems, though he is on the third floor and she is on the first. If the rumors were right, if Kinzo's stash of gold was hidden where the riddle pointed, it would solve all of their problems. They could pay off their debts, and Kinzo would accept his son as his successor.
Natsuhi was still pouring over the text as her husband stumbled downstairs, in a daze.
“Dear…” she walked over to him as quietly as she could, as if trying not to frighten away a bird that had landed very close to her. “Krauss, we should try and solve Father’s epitaph together. It’s the only way we can fix this.” She tries to suggest gently.
Anger, and shame at his wife knowing the trouble he’d gotten them into welled up in Krauss.
“I told you! There is no gold! That’s just Father’s delusion!”
He stalked off, out of sight.
Natsuhi tried several more times to convince Krauss to help her to solve the epitaph, but only received more abuse for her efforts.
Still, she couldn’t stop thinking about finding the gold. She thought about the epitaph in every moment, trying to piece the riddle together.
Until one night, everything fell into place. And before she knew it, she stood in a room with ten tons of gold piled in it.
“I..I did it.” Natsuhi heard herself say. “I.. I should go… and get Krauss…” she begins but makes no movement towards the door.
After all. What had he ever done for her? All of her efforts to help him had only ended with him saying she should know her place and abusing her verbally in other ways. Why should he get to be the family head after all of that? The Epitaph was open to anyone to solve it, after all.
Then she saw it. On top of the stack of gold closest to her, was the golden ring of the headship.
Without hesitating, Natsuhi took the ring and placed it on her finger.
“That’s right. I am the new head of the Ushiromiya family.”
"There you go, see?" Lambdadelta says. "That's how Natsuhi got started with the tale we're about to see! But you're tired of backstory, aren't you? Then lets start this new tale!"
The gameboard opens as they all do, on October 4th, 1986. The conference, and those attending it are far from unusual for those who have experienced this game before. The siblings, “Krauss, Eva, Rudolf, and Rosa” are in attendance with their spouses, “Natsuhi, Hideyoshi, and Kyrie” and their children, “Jessica, George, Battler and Maria.” “Kinzo” is no where to be seen, but Krauss assures everyone that he just refuses to leave his study.
In the front hall, as usual, Beatrice’s portrait waited, with Kinzo’s epitaph stationed not far from it.
The servants, “Genji, Gohda, Kumasawa, Shannon, and Kannon” are all in attendance. The only relatively unusual attendee is a girl who washed up on the shore just as the typhoon rolled in, as the cousins and Shannon tidied up their picnic to hurry back inside. Her story was that she’d been on a boat tour with her parents, but had fallen overboard. As the storm was worsening, it was unlikely the boat would be unable to come to pick her up, and so, “Erika Furudo” joined the game this round.
The first day of the family conference goes as it always does, with the adults staying up long into the night, and the cousins and Erika going to sleep in the guest house.
Everyone sleeps soundly, and the cousins and Erika arrive at the mansion before the adults have woken. They are let into the parlor by Gohda, to wait for breakfast to be served.
As they wait, a horrible burning smell begins to waft into the room. Following the smell, they come to the door leading down the the basement, which the servants are gathered around. There is a red magic circle drawn on the door, and down the hall they can see matching circles on the doors of the rooms each of the parents was staying in.
Lambdadelta fades into view one more time. “As for the the Detective… Well, it's Bern's piece, obviously. I just had to give her another chance to fail~ Bern's so cute when she's angry at her, after all.”

“A word I know that six letters contains
Subtract the last and only twelve remain.”
The one who obtains the key must then travel to the Golden Land in accordance with these rules
On the first twilight, offer the six chosen by the key as sacrifices.
On the second twilight, those who remain shall tear apart the two who are close.
On the third twilight, those who remain shall praise my noble name.
On the fourth twilight, gouge the head and kill.
On the fifth twilight, gouge the chest and kill.
On the sixth twilight, gouge the belly and kill.
On the seventh twilight, gouge the knee and kill.
On the eighth twilight, gouge the leg and kill.
On the ninth twilight, the witch shall revive, and none shall be left alive.
On the tenth twilight, the journey shall end, and you shall reach the capital where the gold dwells
The witch will praise the wise, and should bestow four treasures.
One shall be, all the gold from the Golden Land.
One shall be, the resurrection of the souls of all the dead.
One shall be, even the resurrection of the lost love.
One shall be, to put the witch to sleep for all time."
Sleep peacefully, my most beloved witch, Beatrice.
