There's something I want to mention: With " No one climbed out of a window while someone was dying." I mean " No one has climbed out of a window while someone was being killed." If the chain part of it was already set in that rectangle, installing that rectangle onto the door (or the other end onto the doorframe) still counts as someone setting the chain lock. Sorry, I don't know if that's any clearer, actually... Coming in direct contact with any part of the chain lock counts as touching it.I think I got it there. The chain locks were set using a magnet or a wire hanger, or some other tool. I guess you could call that a tool. So correct. But the two options you presented are incorrect. The chain locks were installed backwards, thus when the door was opened far enough, the chain simply fell off That didn't happen when the detective tried to open a chain locked door.Nate heard Fen's voice over the phone. If we are talking about the first time he answered the phone, correct.Xerxes attacked Fen, believing he was the one who killed Jezz. Correct.Fen was killed via blunt force trauma. False. An accomplice called the culprit at some point. By phone? If so, incorrect.Sarah's master key was used during the murders, before Ryax or the detective got ahold of it. INCorrect.Someone called the Entrance on purpose. The Entrance's phone never rang. But someone did press the "entrance" button on a phone on purpose. There are only two Master Keys. Only two master keys exist. With the exception of the Master Keys, there is only one key to each room, 1 key for Xerxes's door, 1 key for Fen's door and so on. Correct.Since Tech was with Jezz when she died, he is either an accomplice or the murderer. Since his body was never found, his death cannot be confirmed; since his death was not confirmed by the detective, nor was Flaming's death, then these two were the murderer and an accomplice.Sure, now make a theory on how they could've done the crimes & locked rooms.

How about this? - Jezz's murder was with one of her own knives. Either she let Tech into her room, or he used her key, or someone else let her in. He got her knife, and cut her throat as she was in the hallway. Fen was the first to find her body; Xerxes witnesses him over her, and thinking he killed her, grabbed a knife. The knife that killed Jezz is different from the one that killed Xerxes. - Xerxes stabbed Fen, and he lost the knife in the struggle with Fen. Tech came along and used that knife to stab Xerxes to death. He then chased Fen into Xerxes' room and killed Fen via strangulation, and during this Flaming moved the bodies into the rooms they were found in. - As for Ryax and Sarah, you can blame Ryax for giving him the opening. Ryax attacked the detective, and then Tech overpowered him and threw him through the window; after this, he came after Sarah with the rest of the knives from Fen's room and murdered her in the dining hall. Flaming had used his key to open it. - Once all this was done, Tech followed the detective from the dining hall and attacked him with another knife, killing him. I'm working on the locked rooms, I figured I'd get the murders out of the way first.

Oh, I had an idea. The culprit locked all the chains from the outside, except for the dining hall's, as they were hiding in the dining hall under the table. After they set the chains from the outside using some tool - the specific type is not important - they hid in the entrance room. Alternately, the accomplice set the chains using the same method.

I'll leave this here and look at your theory Chains can only be set from the inside.

An open door provides just enough of a gap for the tool to reach in and set the chain.

I will be using grey color to ask questions now, dont mind me- Jezz's murder was with one of her own knives. Correct.Either she let Tech into her room, or he used her key, or someone else let her in. Here's another gift 4 u:Before the murders, all doors were unlocked. He got her knife, and cut her throat as she was in the hallway. Jezz was killed with one of the knives in her cupboard. She also died in the hallway.Fen was the first to find her body; Xerxes witnesses him over her, and thinking he killed her, grabbed a knife. Xerxes is a smart man, he wouldn't assume someone is a killer just because they were standing over a dead person. The knife that killed Jezz is different from the one that killed Xerxes. The knife that killed Jezz was also used to kill Xerxes.- Xerxes stabbed Fen, and he lost the knife in the struggle with Fen. Correct. As said before, it was embedded on Fen's arm.Tech came along and used that knife to stab Xerxes to death. He then chased Fen into Xerxes' room and killed Fen via strangulation, and during this Flaming moved the bodies into the rooms they were found in. Fen was not strangled.- As for Ryax and Sarah, you can blame Ryax for giving him the opening. Ryax attacked the detective, and then Tech overpowered him and threw him through the window; after this, he came after Sarah with the rest of the knives from Fen's room and murdered her in the dining hall. Flaming had used his key to open it. After Ryax had finished with the detective, the culprit attacked him and threw him out the window. Also, when the detective confirmed the death of the first corpse he found, there were only 4 people alive. By the way, I can't give away the culprit's identity even if it's correct, that's why I'm repeating stuff and not saying "X part is correct."- Once all this was done, Tech followed the detective from the dining hall and attacked him with another knife, killing him. Nate was not stabbed, he was killed with magic.Question: Where was the culprit when Nate woke up?An open door provides just enough of a gap for the tool to reach in and set the chain. You would be setting the chain from the outside that way.

- Fen did not die from his wound that Xerxes caused. - The victims locked themselves in the rooms they were found in, except for Jezz, who was dragged into her room by an accomplice who set the chain.

A tool set the chain locks from inside the room.
A living body was inside the rooms of the victims when the chain lock was set.
The broken chain on Fen's door was replaced with a new one.
A living body was inside one of the locked rooms before Nate, Ryax, or Sarah entered them.
Some dumbass set the chain lock using a knife because why not.
Perhaps Fen had picked up the knife used to murder Jezz, which is why Xerxes believed Fen had killed her?
Or the culprit ran to Xerxes in a panic, and claimed that Fen had murdered Jezz.
Fen died from bloodloss, due to a major artery in his arm being cut.

A tool was used to set the chain locks manually. I'm not sure if this object can be counted as a tool, but let's do that. Also, the name of the tool is irrelevant, so I'm just gonna say it now: it was a glove.A living body was inside the rooms of the victims when the chain locks were set.Well, you got it. Each time certain chain locks were broken, they were replaced with a new one.
A living body was inside one of the locked rooms before Nate, Ryax, or Sarah entered them.
Lol no.
Xerxes did not attack Fen for that reason. Fen never held a knife.
Incorrect.
Fen did not die from blood loss.

Well, alright then. The culprit wore gloves to set the chain lock.
The culprit killed Flaming and took his master key.
Alternatively, the culprit received a master key from Flaming, and then killed him.
The culprit was inside Xerxes's room when Ryax broke the chain lock.
The culprit managed to sneak out of Xerxes's room without Ryax or Sarah noticing.
Fen attempted to steal Xerxes's gold.
Fen died from the cartridge in his nose being shoved up into his brain by someone hitting his nose in a specific spot.
Just to be clear, as demonstrated by our detective, all the doors have deadbolt locks on them. Meaning you cannot set the lock from the inside of the door and close it.

Well, alright then. The culprit wore gloves to set the chain lock. Correct, thought you're not telling me which door they chain locked, they did use gloves. Question answered! The culprit killed Flaming and took his master key. Not.Alternatively, the culprit received a master key from Flaming, and then killed him. I refuse to answer. The culprit was inside Xerxes's room when Ryax broke the chain lock. I also refuse to answer. The culprit managed to sneak out of Xerxes's room without Ryax or Sarah noticing. Anyone would notice someone leaving the room they are in.Fen attempted to steal Xerxes's gold. Someone did try to steal Xerxes' gold. They almost succeeded, actually.Fen died from the cartridge in his nose being shoved up into his brain by someone hitting his nose in a specific spot. False.Just to be clear, as demonstrated by our detective, all the doors have deadbolt locks on them. Meaning you cannot set the lock from the inside of the door and close it. Correct.

Alright, I was brainstorming during work and I have some idea as to how to prove Tech did it and then I spotted something in the reds, but first: - A dead body was pushed or thrown out Jezz's window. - The culprit did not try to steal the gold. - The victims, save Jezz, set their chain locks themselves. The culprit set Jezz's chain.
The four living people after Fen's death were the detective, Ryax, Sarah, and the culprit. Ryax and Sarah cannot be the culprit because they were with the detective at the time of the murders (Sarah was in the hallway when Fen died), and even if they were the detective confirmed Sarah was dead. Ryax was attacked by the culprit and thrown out the window after attacking the detective. There is only one culprit. When the detective woke up, the culprit was UNDER the table that Sarah's body was found on. Since the detective confirmed the dead bodies as such, and the detective cannot misidentify a corpse, therefore I can guarantee that ONLY Tech or Flaming could have committed the crimes.
So how do I know it was Flaming? The culprit was in possession of Flaming's key for most of game. Flaming's master key did leave his possession, but only when he placed it on Sarah's body.

Not like I can say much about that. You'll have to tell me how they could've done the locked rooms and murders. I'll leave this here so you can think about it:
Just because someone is alive after the murders does not mean they are the culprit.Moving to the reds:- A dead body was pushed or thrown out Jezz's window. A dead body was not pushed or thrown out Jezz's window.- The culprit did not try to steal the gold. That is not correct.- The victims, save Jezz, set their chain locks themselves. The culprit set Jezz's chain. The chain on Fen's room was set after Xerxes had died, so he couldn't have set the chain. The culprit did not set the chain on Jezz's room. The culprit did not set the chain on Xerxes' room.So how did this happen? Pretty sure this is impossible if magic was not involved.

Nuh uh uh, Segaco.
There is only one culprit.
When the detective confirmed the death of the first corpse he found, there were only 4 people alive.
No traps were used to commmit murder.
The knives used to kill Sarah had been taken by the culprit after Ryax attacked the detective.
After Ryax had finished with the detective, the culprit attacked him and threw him out the window.
There were no suicides.
There are only 4 people alive. The detective will not misidentify a corpse. Three of these living bodies are Nate, Ryax and Sarah. Therefore, the last living person must be the culprit!

Well my "Make them forget about the red" plan that was most likely not going to work didn't work. I'm sad now Correct.
So, are you going to solve the locked rooms or are just going to admit that they were done magic? That latter idea seems pretty enticing, I don't know about you guys but I think you should go with the second option. (this was totally not stolen)

Okay, how about this? - There was an accomplice once. They locked Jezz's room's chain, while Fen set the one in Xerxes' before he made the call to the dining hall, and the culprit set the lock in Fen's and hid under the bed that I forgot to look under. At some point, the culprit killed their accomplice through the door to Jezz's room (the culprit opened it without undoing the chain and got stabbed through the opening). - The person who appeared before the detective was, obviously, the culprit. At that point, they were the only two alive. When the detective confirmed the death of the first corpse he found, there were only 4 people alive. Ryax, Sarah, Nate, and the culprit were these four since there were no suicides, and Ryax and Sarah were murdered. If one of these two had been the culprit, they could not have been able to kill the detective. - Xerxes thought Fen was the killer because he was aiding the culprit in either the gold theft or in moving Jezz's body. - The detective was killed by a gold bar. That is, via blunt-force trauma.
