"that's odd..." if it was just her Krauss and the servants missing she suspected it was a scheme but where could the rest of them have gone? "Come along you two we should figure out what's going on."

The sound of the door is interesting enough, but the sudden increase in toxin makes him realize the danger.
However, with the door open, Kinzo uses this opportunity to erase his own form. He swirls out of the room unseen, but he pauses at the door to the VIP room to try and get a glimpse of whoever his visitor was. It would be interesting to learn why Genji gave them the Study Key... assuming it had been given to him, of course.
Then, he moves quickly down the stairs to Nanjo's office. Due to the overwhelming toxin, Kinzo is unable to make out who, exactly opened the door. However, he can determine three figures. He stops by Nanjo's office and finds the door closed."that's odd..." if it was just her Krauss and the servants missing she suspected it was a scheme but where could the rest of them have gone? "Come along you two we should figure out what's going on." The two men follow behind Eva. As they ascend back into the mansion proper, there is an eerie silence. It appears that, at least for the moment, the trio is alone.

"Even more unusual..." Kinzo murmurs as he escapes downstairs.
The office being closed is one thing; it is late, after all, but Kinzo tries to see if it's possible for him to get inside. If not, he observes the second floor, looking for open doors. There's no telling when those three will be back down after all, and he'd have to find a way to avoid the toxin.

"Interesting. I can't blame a young lady for keeping her room locked, but an on-call doctor certainly shouldn't lock himself away." Kinzo mutters.
It's been a while, since he's been in his own mansion, save for the third floor though. Perhaps it would be good to see what's become of it.
With that, Kinzo lets himself into Krauss's room.

Inside his son's room, Kinzo finds various documents regarding investments Krauss has made. Things haven't been going well for him; it seems that not only is he about broke, but deep in debt from failure after failure.

With mounting irritation Eva turns and heads in the directions of the servants quarters.

As Eva, Hideyoshi, and Gohda head to the servant's quarters, Gohda breaks off and stops by the front door. "Eh? What's this?"

"hand it here." Eva says as she takes it from his hands.

Kinzo lets out a snort of derision. It certainly figures. Perhaps the witch should win this one after all. By the looks of these papers, it seemed there wouldn't be much left for the champion to claim after what his son has done.
He vaguely recalled there being an adjoining room here somewhere; Kinzo looks around for the door to Krauss's study.

Gohda, having just closed the front door, looks surprised as the envelope is immediately taken from him. The envelope bears the one-winged eagle, and is sealed with a wax seal. Inside of the envelope is a letter addressed to the family.
Greetings, Ushiromiya family! I am Beatrice, the Golden Witch, and I have returned for that which is mine. As the family's alchemical advisor, I loaned Kinzo two tons of gold in exchange for the assets grown from it. However, Kinzo and I made one more condition: if the epitaph is solved, the epitaph written by Kinzo himself, you will not only prove yourself Kinzo's equal, but in the case that it is solved before I finish collecting the interest, I will not only stop, but return all that was already taken! The first person to solve the epitaph wins all the spoils, so good luck in competing with Kinzo. YOUR LIVES DEPEND ON IT!!! At the bottom of the letter is a seal:
Also included in the envelope is a copy of the epitaph:
My voice, thrown through both time and space, my power, preserved for generations to come! You who know my name, recognize me so that you may enter paradise!
The one who obtains the key must then travel to the Golden Land in accordance with these rules: On the first twilight, lay the faithful to rest. On the second twilight, reward the diligent with their prize. On the third twilight, cut off the head of the conspiracy. On the fourth twilight, destroy the three fools who have defied my holy name! On the fifth twilight, call the faithful back to the Golden Land. On the sixth twilight, gouge the chest and kill. On the seventh twilight, gouge the stomach and kill. On the eighth twilight, gouge the knee and kill. On the ninth twilight, gouge the leg and kill. On the tenth twilight, the witch shall revive, and none shall be left alive. On the eleventh twilight, the journey shall end, and you shall reach the capital where the gold dwells!
The witch will praise the wise, and should bestow four treasures. One shall be, all the gold from the Golden Land. One shall be, the resurrection of the souls of all the dead. One shall be, even the resurrection of the lost love. One shall be, to put the witch to sleep for all time.

He vaguely recalled there being an adjoining room here somewhere; Kinzo looks around for the door to Krauss's study. Kinzo finds the door next to some shelves. Inside the study are more documents. Final notices, collection letters, and some attempts at solving the epitaph.

It just gets worse and worse the more Kinzo looks at this. He chuckles slightly to himself, and takes a look at Krauss's attempts to solve the epitaph, just to see if he's even gotten close.

Krauss' notes about the epitaph are nowhere close. His multiple attempts to find the key have all shown that he can't even decipher the first part of the epitaph.

Kinzo shakes his head. He suppose he should have figured as much.
He turns and leaves the room. He pauses at the door the the hallway, trying to sense the Anti-Magic Toxin. If there is none, he travels to Natsuhi's room.

Kinzo senses quite a lot of it downstairs, but things are fine here. He finds his way into Natsuhi's room and finds it empty as well.

"What a pain" He murmurs to himself.
He glances around Natsuhi's room, to see if there's anything of interest in here. It's not like it mattered what she'd think of this. Perhaps she'd prove to be closer to solving the riddle than his useless son.

He finds nothing of interest. If she's been working on the epitaph, Kinzo doesn't see any signs of it.

"What the hell is this? is this supposed to be a joke, that's it I'm getting to the bottom of this now." she says begins searching the ground floor starting with the dining room in the servants quarters.
