"Granpa Kinzo would have a silver candlestick I bet." Maria nods. "Since it was left for me to find, I bet that means there are more clues there!"
With that, Maria heads upstairs towards the study. Still, usually Genji had this key, didn't he? So that'd mean the culprit would have had to got it from him, but she already knew it couldn't be Genji. So... maybe Grandpa Kinzo? or Nanjo?

Along the way, Maria runs into the rest of the family, Kumasawa, and Nanjo. "Oh Maria, where are you off to?" Kumasawa asks.

"Detective Maria is going to Granpa's study." she says, eyeing Nanjo and Kumasawa. "Do either of you recognize these?" she asks, pulling out the candlestick and rope.

Nanjo takes the candlestick. "It looks like one of the ones from the foyer...As for the rope, perhaps from the supply closet...?" He rubs his chin.

"The foyer? Uu-" Maria frowned, she hadn't been counting on that. "Does Kumasawa think so too?" she asked.
Unless she found something more, she wouldn't have any culprits.

"This all reminds me of a certain board game. No magic involved though, which is a shame, I think we may have played it together, young Maria. We've already lost the young Master Green, and now it seems Professor Plum and Mrs Peacock are gone! Oh my! Hahahahaha! I sure do wonder, what if our very own Mrs White has anything to do with this? Does a supply closet require a servant's key? I forget."

"I think the doctor is right about these items. As for the supply closet, it doesn't lock. It was determined too much of a hassle for it, just in case the family needed to get in while none of us were free or something happened to the keys."

"Hmmm...." Maria frowned. Was the key really a clue then? "Grandpa Kinzo, Genji usually has the key to your room, right?"
The key was still the only thing she had to go on. If anyone could get the murder weapons, then anyone could be the culprit..

"Well, Genji didn't have the only key Maria." Eva replied. "Father himself has a spare somewhere. Maybe this is it?"

"A spare?" Maria's brow furrows "But then, there are only two keys then right? Unless you have one of them, you can't unlock the door from the outside?"

"As far as I know. And yes, you need one of the keys to open the door from the outside."

"Does grandpa Kinzo still have his key?" Maria asks. She looks to see if Clair is with the group. She didn't know if someone could take Genji's key when he was eliminated from the game.

Kinzo checks his pockets and notes his key is gone. While he does this, Clair is at the back of the group, reading her book.

"Ms. Clair, are you allowed to tell me what happened to Genji's key to Granpa's study?" Maria asks. "Is the culprit allowed to take it?"
If Kinzo's key was gone, did he leave it behind? She looks sidelong at her grandfather. He would be someone who'd have fun being the culprit. But he was in the dining room with her the whole time until Clair had come to get her, hadn't he?

"It is possible for the culprit to take keys from the 'dead' in order to gain easier access to their 'victims' or their next weapon." Clair replies, not looking up.

Maria frowned. So, the key she had could be Grandpa Kinzo's key. Or it could be Genji's key, and the culrpit had the other. Or were the keys just to throw off the investigation entirely?
"Uu-" Maria muttered to herself. For now the only lead she had was the key to the study. She turned and headed there, trying to think of how she could find the culprit. She stopped and turned around. "Detective Maria wants to know everyone's Alibis for this murder. Especially Kumasawa, Nanjo, Lion and Jessica and Aunt Eva. Kumasawa and Nanjo I want to hear your alibi for the first murder too since we couldn't find you then. And.. just to be sure, is it impossible for Ms. Clair to be the culprit?"

"As the game master, I cannot be the culprit. I am merely a liaison between the culprit or culprits and their victims, as well as detective." Clair responds, closing her book.
Kumasawa thinks. "When George was eliminated, you mean? I was doing laundry in the basement before breakfast was ready for the family, so maybe I was still there when that 'murder' happened...?" She continues to rub her chin. Nanjo, meanwhile, was able to be more specific. "I was doing some final check-ups on your grandfather while he was having his breakfast in the study. He seems to have made a full recovery, I'm happy to report."
Lion, Jessica, Eva, Hideyoshi, and Rudolf all claim to have been in their bedrooms, while Willard states he was in the parlor with his novel. Gohda claims that he was in the kitchen doing dishes.
"Oh, I think mom and dad went to their rooms, too." Jessica pipes up.

Maria nods in acknowledgement of Clair's reply. "I thought so, but I wanted to be sure."
"Uu-" Kumasawa was in the basement? Well, maybe she stopped in the kitchen just to check up on things. And she didn't think she'd taken that long to talk with Lion and Jessica when investigating, but had it been long enough for Grandpa Kinzo to finishing eating? She didn't understand the timing at all.
Pretty much everyone was in their rooms, but.... "Uncle Ruldof, did Aunt Kyrie go with you to your room first, or did she go with Mama to her room?"

"Kyrie went to your mother's room to talk about getting Ange a stuffed animal or something. I went to our room on my own to set up the chess board for a game she challenged me to at breakfast."

"Uu-" No leads from that, huh? Maria couldn't imagine she'd get anything from tracking down when everyone came upstairs. After all, the culprit could just lie.
So, she was back to the key to the study as her only lead. She trudged towards the study, trying to think of anything she'd heard or found that would indicate a potential culprit.
